I'm a researcher interested in investigating the relationship between subjectivity and the material sites that condition it's emergence. Building on the philosophy of Alain Badiou, I argue that we have lost touch with the notion of a “material truth” that requires subjectivity in order to be brought into the realm of meaning and knowledge. In its place, we increasingly expect to derive truths from past knowledges exclusively, despite knowing that the future is necessarily bigger tahn the past. My work seeks to redraw the boundaries between materialism, technologically mediated knowledges, and subjectivity so that we can once again realize futures dialectically from material histories.
